INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
INSTRUCTIONS:
1.Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch (23 cm) cake pan.
2.In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
3.In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
4.Add the mashed bananas to the butter mixture and stir until well combined.
5.Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, until everything is well combined.
6.Stir in the chocolate chips.
7.Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
8.Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
9.Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
